THINK OF THE WHOLE, NOT ITS PARTS

A TELETASK domotics system provides value-for-money because of the simplicity of the cabling infrastructure and because key components such as user interfaces, sensors, software and control actuators are shared by all of the appliances, devices and electrical subsystems in the building.

There are three elements to the total cost of a domotics system:

  • system design and programming
  • controls equipment
  • installation, testing and commissioning

The proportional cost of these elements relative to the total domotics cost varies with the nature of each project.

For a single property each element often represents about 1/3 of the total cost. For multi-occupancy projects such as a block of flats or offices, hotel or housing estate, the proportion of the system design and programming cost can be significantly lower.

The total cost of a domotics system depends on the size of the building and the complexity and performance level the system is required to provide. However, due to the modularity of the system components, a basic infrastructure can be installed first, and more functionality can be added later on as requirements or budgets permit.

A fully integrated controls system (including project management, design, hardware, installation, programming and testing), typically costs between 2% and 4% of the total build or refurbishment cost. As the TELETASK domotics system replaces controls supplied with the individual sub-systems – e,g. lighting, heating/hot water/cooling, blinds/curtains, etc. – our integrated installations can cost less overall than typical assembly of individual controls.
