There are only three ways any electrical device is activated:

  • ON/OFF
  • Variable output  (light dimming, audio volume, variable fan speed, etc.)
  • Movement (open/close, up/down, rotate clock/anticlock-wise)

The link between any control input (switch, remote, touch screen, smart-phone, sensor, etc.) and the array of electrical appliances, devices or systems to be controlled (lights, heating/cooling, audio/video, curtains, etc.), is provided by a central programmable electronic processor.

The rules that dictate which outputs are controlled by any particular input are defined by you and embedded in software that can be modified at any time to meet new or changing needs.

Within the processor there is also an electronic clock and a calendar which can be used to automatically initiate any action or combination of actions according to time and/or date.
